Step 1

Check that the 8 short cocktail sausages are labelled fully cooked; dry their surfaces. Trim the crusts from 4 soft bread slices, flatten each with a rolling pin or clean smooth bottle, then halve to make 8 rectangles. Each should wrap around one sausage with a little overlap; do not use raw sausage.
-
Step 2

Beat 1 egg in a shallow bowl. Put one sausage across the short edge of each bread rectangle. Brush a little of the beaten egg on the far edge, roll firmly around the sausage and press the seam for 10 seconds. Set seam-side down so the rolls do not open.
-
Step 3

Put ½ small paper cup panko (about 30 g) on a plate. Briefly dip the OUTSIDE of each roll into the remaining egg, let excess drip and press lightly into panko. Brush a TOTAL 1 tablespoon oil thinly over all 8 rolls. Discard egg and crumbs left after coating.
-
Step 4

Preheat the air fryer to 180°C according to its manual. Arrange the 8 rolls seam-side down in one layer with gaps. Cook about 8–10 minutes, turning carefully after 5 minutes once the seams set. Finish golden and crisp, with the sausage centre at least 74°C; follow its label and cook longer if needed. Do not leave the appliance unattended while gaming.
-
Step 5

Move with clean tongs to 2 small plates, 4 rolls each. Let cool about 2 minutes; cut a roll if needed to make comfortable bites. Serve the optional 2 tablespoons ketchup in a separate bowl with small forks. Finish cooking before returning to your game.
Finished dish

Paper cup = 180 ml; tablespoon = 15 ml; teaspoon = 5 ml. This is a bread-wrapped mini hot dog, without cheese or batter. No air fryer? Bake in a preheated 200°C oven for about 12–15 minutes, turning halfway; verify 74°C in the centre. Times vary by appliance. Contains wheat and egg; check sausages for milk, soy and other allergens. Refrigerate within 2 hours at 4°C or colder, eat within 1 day and reheat to 74°C.
Enjoy every bite
How to enjoy it
Keep a small plate on a stable tray away from the keyboard. A fork and separate ketchup make these easy to eat between gaming rounds without coating your hands in sauce.
Serve it with

Korean chicken-shop pickled radish
Cool, crisp, sweet-sour white radish cubes served alongside Korean fried chicken. This refrigerator pickle takes about 15 minutes to prepare, then at least 12 hours to chill; it is not shelf-stable canned food.

Korean spicy cucumber salad (oi-muchim)
A crisp cucumber side dish with gochugaru, vinegar and sesame. Mix shortly before serving for the freshest texture.
